A tropical evergreen tree native to Sri Lanka, Madagascar and South India growing up to 15 metres tall ( 49 ft)
Essential is steam distilled from the inner bark of the new shoots every two years. The cinnamon spice has been used for thousands of years as a general simulant ,for colds and flu ,kidney and digestive problems.
As an essential oil both bark and leaf oils are used for there fragrance and theraputically in nasal sprays, cough sysrups and dental treatments.

Bark oil is a dermal toxin ,irritant and sensitizer and also an irritant to the mucus membranes.
